My name is Kirsten McDonald and I live in Auckland with my husband Phil Venables, our son Joshua who has Down syndrome and turns into a teenager this November, and our dog Frankie. I have been involved in the awesome Down syndrome community for twelve years having served on the Auckland Down Syndrome Association committee from most of those, helping with events celebrating World Down Syndrome Day, Round the Bays and the Success in Schools Course, and now being our Zone 2 Representative. I work part-time from home while trying to juggle appointments, school activities, after school activities and therapies. I’ve also been quite involved with Toastmasters over the years, have started golf again too since Joshua has started playing and I enjoy going to the gym in the really early hours of the morning.
