We are the National organisation representing the Down Syndrome community in New Zealand.

The NZDSA and Kindred are excited to invite you to join the preview of our new employment videos.These videos, complement our current Employment Resources and share the stories of employers and employees and their experiences on successful inclusive hiring and employment.Georgina Kirk and Kate Maroulis from Kindred – Psychology at Work will also provide an overview of the Employer Resource Toolkit, a guide for employers on hiring people with Down syndrome, and the Career Plan Workbook, a guide for job seekers.This resource has pan-disability relevance. Please share the information with your networks. The event will take place online on the 30th July 2024 from 12:30 pm to 1:15 pm. Day 3 of the @worlddWorld Down Syndrome Congress started with a plenary discussion with adults with Down syndrome. Andrew Oswin an inaugural member of STRIVE and now a member of STEP-UP was one of the 5 panel speakers. Day 2 at the World Down Syndrome Congress —Sir Robert Martin was scheduled to deliver the keynote address, and it was with sadness that we remembered his sacrificial advocacy to challenge ableism and champion the rights of people with learning disabilities. Thank you, Cindy Johns, for the moving tribute. I am sure Sir Robert’s final words would be that he is in a room full of leaders and he would challenge us to continue to advocate for full citizenship rights for all people with Down syndrome. #nzdsa #wdsc24 ... The opening ceremony of the 15th @worlddownsyndromecongress was attended by more than a 1,000 people from over 47 countries. The first WDSC was hosted in Mexico in 1981.We are so happy to be attending this fantastic conference!#nzdsa #wsdc24 ... See MoreSee Less
