SOUTHERN STARS CAMPAIGN

The NZDSA was established 43 years ago as a charitable organisation.  The NZDSA receives no government funding so the donations we receive from this annual telephone fundraising campaign will enable the NZDSA to raise awareness, to support its ongoing work and fund three specific projects described below.

This telephone campaign will run from the 9th September to the 25th October 2024

This year our annual appeal is for three critical projects:

  • The first is to host our annual Youth Development Camp at Vaughan Park Retreat Centre and MERC, Long Bay, Auckland in 22-24th November 20243. This camp will focus on building self-esteem, well-being, gaining independence and confidence, as well as some activities like rock climbing, archery and abseiling. Those attending will come from throughout NZ.
  • The second is the vital information, support and advocacy service that the NZDSA provides to people with Down syndrome, their whānau and professionals.
  • The third is to publish and distribute our quarterly journal called CHAT 21.

We would like to extend our thanks to Southern Stars, a registered charity working to raise funds on behalf of the NZDSA.

Thank you for donating to this annual telephone campaign.
