Life with Down syndrome
Like all children, those with Down syndrome will learn and develop, but often at a different rate than an average child. Their development can be enhanced with specialist therapy and help at school.People with Down syndrome are fully participating members of their families and their communities. When communities, classrooms, organisations, and society more generally recognises the individuality and potential of people with Down syndrome, it leads to better outcomes for the person with Down syndrome as well as their whānau, peers, and the wider community.
